Rest Beach

Project Overview

G.M. Selby conducted a comprehensive beach profile survey at C. B. Harvey Rest Beach Park, Key West’s only beach featuring natural vegetation. The project provided critical data on sand volume, seagrass, and hard bottom communities to support recovery planning, post-hurricane nourishment, and long-term environmental management.

Project Background

Rest Beach Park is a family-friendly coastal destination with wheelchair-accessible pathways over the dunes, a bike path, and a picnic area. The park’s unique natural vegetation and recreational amenities make it a highly valued public space. Following hurricane impacts, accurate monitoring of beach conditions was essential to maintain safety, habitat integrity, and public accessibility.
