The Crandon Park Tennis Center, located within the scenic Crandon Park Beach on Key Biscayne, is a premier sports facility and former home of the Miami Open Tennis Tournament. The complex includes 26 courts—13 of which, along with the Grandstand, require high-performance lighting for competitive play.
G.M. Selby was engaged to design and engineer a comprehensive lighting upgrade that meets international performance standards while adhering to local planning regulations.
Project Background
Owned and managed by Miami-Dade County, the Crandon Park Tennis Center is a major recreational and tournament venue. To maintain its status as a professional-level facility, the County sought significant lighting improvements to support visibility, safety, and televised events.
The upgraded illumination needed to satisfy the rigorous requirements of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and support both tournament-grade and everyday recreational use.
